The death of nokia phones

It was my first phone the bulky 3210. Since beginning Nokia had dominated the cell phone handsets industry. With new models being released every quarter the market was always flooded with all sorts of options to choose from. I guess at that time Nokia’s strategy was to flood market with innovative products and shock and awe the competition. This might have been the winning formulae for nokia. This continued till the advent of smart phones.
Smartphones took nokia by surprise and caught them off-guard the market dynamics changed so fast that they took time to innovate and come up with competitive products, this catch up race that they were doing with others changed them from masters to follower.
Never the less the hard work paid off with advent of Lumia and asha series. These phone are good and affordable and to some extend a befitting answer to smartphone wars.
Then came the dooms spell, among their financial crisis and insecurity for windows phone. Prompted nokia to sell the devices division to Microsoft.
This started a whole new chapter, Microsoft being a software giant is not able to do justice to the devices division esp. Mobile phones. The release cycles for new phone is very long by which they would not be able to cash upon the initial success the Lumia phones enjoyed.

In hope that microsoft would rev up the market with more handsets, we the admirers of Nokia phone await for it rise again.
